5/22/10 saw mommy feeding babies from top of cage at 3:35 PM 5:03 saw mommy go INTO the cage to feed her babies. I am just so excited! 5/23/10 I finally got the bright idea to set the digital camera on something on the windowsill so that the recorder function could record without me having to move the camera or hold it. This is working out quite well. I did go out to the cage this morning when I took out our dogs to do their 'business' to check on the babies. One was being a normal baby bird and trying to move away from me and squeaking to it's parents. That was a good sign. The other, however, didn't seem to be as active. I also noticed that it had some white droppings dried on top of its' beak. With the dogs out there, the parents were having a fit and let their annoyance at our presence be quite known. By their behavior I also believe they have at least one more, if not two, babies in the bushes at our fence line. This the dogs picked up on quickly. I will go out later and check on the babies. I want to see if the one that didn't seem active earlier is doing any better. If not, I will bring it in to give it some one on one care then put it back out there with the parents. I am very happy that I actually caught one of the parents going INTO the cage to feed a worm to the more active baby. While reviewing the video I see that BOTH babies are doing just fine. :)
